Educational Background

Jeffrey F. Abramson received his Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1969. He studied computer programming at the George Washington University, Washington, D.C. Mr. Abramson has passed the required licensing examination for the Maryland State Board of Realtors and is certified by the U.S. Department of Defense in Planning and Design for Protective Construction. Mr. Abramson is registered as a Fallout Shelter Analyst with the Department of Civil Defense and is LEED-AP certified by the United States Green Building Council.

Development Experience

Mr. Abramson is President of Battery Development Corporation. The Corporation developed a 64 unit luxury, high rise residential condominium building in Bethesda, Maryland. Mr. Abramson is also a Managing Member of Waxpool Associates. The LLC was the developer of an 67 single family attached dwelling unit, 8.15 acre parcel located on Waxpool Road in the Ashburn area of Loudoun County, Virginia.

In the retail area, Mr. Abramson was a partner in the development and construction of both the Sully Plaza Shopping Center in Chantilly, Virginia and the Westfair Shopping Center in Fairfax City, Virginia.

Construction Background

From 1969 to 1970, Mr. Abramson was employed as a Project Engineer with the Bechtel Corporation. He was on the team that was responsible for the structural design of the superstructure of the reactor building at the E.I. Hatch Nuclear power plant in Georgia.

Mr. Abramson held the position of Project Coordinator with Majestic Builders Corporation from 1970 through 1975. He was responsible for the review of construction plans and negotiations of subcontracts for many commercial and multifamily projects in the Washington, D.C. and Tidewater, Virginia areas. Among the projects under Mr. Abramson's direction included: North Park Apartments, Chevy Chase, Maryland (309 units); Quality Inn Motel, Washington, D.C. (224 units); and the Pines of York Garden Apartments, Newport News, Virginia (250 units).

From 1976 through 1978, Mr. Abramson was a Project Manager for the Charles E. Smith Building Corporation. He was responsible for managing the construction of the 250,000 square foot Crystal Square Office Building Number 3 and the 300,000 square foot Crystal Square Office Building Number 4. Development of the buildings, along with their associated interconnecting garages, also included the construction and coordination of the retail tenant space in the 55,000 square foot Crystal "Underground" Shopping Center.

From 1978 to 1989, Mr. Abramson was a principal of The Marcus Corporation, a General Contracting/Construction Management firm which specializes in construction of owner-managed commercial properties. Projects constructed under Mr. Abramsons direction included: 3900 Jermantown Road, Fairfax City, Virginia (55,000 square foot office building); Godwin Industrial Park, Manassas, Virginia (60,000 square foot office/warehouse building); Portsmouth Office Building, Clarendon, Virginia (35,000 square foot office building in conjunction with an 8,000 square foot historic renovation); and the Waterford Square Condominiums, Reston, Virginia (48 unit mid-rise residential apartments).

In 1989, Jeffrey F. Abramson formed Abramson Construction Corporation.
